Taking Coupon Clipping to a Glorious Level

groceriesGrocery shopping is hard enough on its own without the added challenge of lining up sales and coupons to produce a receipt that could go down in the Grocery Savings Hall of Fame, however that’s not stopping my wife Elizabeth from venturing out to Publix and striving to save more than we spend. How does she achieve such monumental discounts on food, toiletries and every day items?

Coupons.

Earlier today my brilliant, biblically inspired wife challenged herself to buy this week’s groceries and save more than she spent. With ample “buy 1 get 1 free” deals on items we actually consume, and coupons galore atop these already discounted deals, Elizabeth managed to GET PAID to buy certain items on her list, such as Ken’s Salad Dressings. Each one was buy one get one free, and since she had BOGO coupons for each one, every single bottle she picked up was free (see partial Publix receipt here).

She didn’t stop there!

Liz also has stocked up on $1.00 off coupons for each bottle of dressing so she got paid for each one. Today she bought a bunch, and since they don’t expire for 2 years or so, we won’t have to eat salad 5 times a day to make this amazing purchase worth while… I love my wife!!!

To take this endeavor over the top, it turns out God has blessed us with the most abundant lettuce and spinach harvest we EVER had on our homestead.

Of course Elizabeth also took advantage of other deals such as Publix’s “Free $10.00 Gift Card with a $50.00 Purchase” which saved us an extra $20 bucks.

If you’re on a budget or simply looking to save on your grocery bills, be smart and educated about it. Many thanks and blessings to Carol-Ann aka “the Christian Coupon Lady” for her advice and guidance how to make this happen.
