Throwback Friday – Focus Minded for Job Seekers
How did an entire work week completely vanishes in what felt like only a few hours? Still far too many projects stacked on the back burner, yet I clearly see God’s blessings abound around me. I pray our heavenly father continues to watch over you and those around you. Oh yes! A throwback! Focus Minded was cute, but focus on Job Seekers and you’ve got: Focus Minded for Job seekers!
This is the fourth in a series of many, possibly too many National Motivation Network iTunes podcasts. Feel free to share this post with a friend in between careers (or just looking) who might benefit from a listen. It’s sound advice, best of all it’s free!
Tips on Maximizing Your Chances at Getting the Job
- Update Your Lame Old Resume (freshen the base font, replace unpredictable tabs with tables, etc.)
- Create a Striking Marketing Plan (single page featuring career goals, strengths, accomplishments and a professionally looking photograph)
- Write an Engaging Cover letter (as an introduction and invitation to peruse your Resume and or Marketing Plan)
- Follow-Through (always follow-up with each opportunity, email is good, phone is best, within 1 business day)
- Get Closure (find out as soon as you can if it’s going to work out, if not let’s move on to bigger’n better opportunities)
