Thrilling Mission Monday at Disney’s Magic Kingdom

Today, after I put in a half day at work, my family and I were blessed to serve the Lord at Disney’s Magic Kingdom. From sidewalk chalk messages, that seemingly caused a bit of controversy among skeptice to striking wearaverse t-shirts, which drew praises from both Disney cast members and Magic Kingdom guests, today’s outreach turned out to be quite a thrilling one.

I did manage to shoot a quick video of Faith and Elizabeth enjoying the Barnstormer, one of our favorite Disney rides…

How Are You Fulfilling The Great Commission?

Hitting Disney theme parks is one of the ways God led us to fulfill our mission to advance the gospel to the four corners of the earth. While the slums of India and poverty stricken villages of Guatemala certainly need to hear the truth about the resurrected Christ, so do Disney cast members and guests.

For example, the following sidewalk chalk message stirred a man enough, he exclaimed “this can’t be authorized!” as he walked off a ferry boat from the Magic Kingdom. You see, earlier in the day, I used Disney chalk to write this message in a designated waiting area where guests and cast members are encouraged to use chalk as we wait for a ferry to transport us to the MK. While others choose cute, meaningless phrases, like “Susan was here!” we instead use the opportunity to share the truth about salvation, and Christ.

My hope for you is that you are also involved in advancing the truth and furthering God’s kingdom by planting seeds of love, and controversy throughout your mission field, albeit work, school, online and offline and, of course, in your personal life.
