Is Whitney Houston in Heaven or Hell?

That’s a question for God Himself to answer. When I get there, I’ll be sure to ask him… ;)

Yesterday, Whitney Houston’s legacy was offered to the world as the testimony of those who knew her best. Whitney’s destiny is deeply rooted in her past, in her faith.

Why is Whitney Houston in Heaven, and Steve Jobs in Hell?

Is Whitney Houston in Heaven or Hell?Whitney was a Christian. She is exactly where she chose to be, rejoicing with her heavenly father for all eternity. Whitney Houston was a professed believer. Her faith in Jesus Christ, and confidence in His promise of eternal life were not only obvious in her life, but prominent.

Steve Jobs was a Buddhist. He is exactly where he chose to be, IMO burning in hell in agony for ever (more re. Steve Jobs in Hell).

Many will argue Whitney Houston was a sinner, a drug user, atop being divorced, another clear transgression of the word of God she carried with her among the living. How could such a sinner end up in heaven, while a blameless man like Steve Jobs be cast into to hell to burn?

You see, both Whitney Houston and Steve Jobs were sinners. In God’s eyes, the difference between the two is not their lives, but His Son’s. Because Whitney believed in God’s presence and sacrifice on the cross, she was saved from the wages of her sins, which is death.

  • All of us are sinners.
  • Everyone falls short of God’s glory.
  • We all deserve to wage of our sin.

By the blood of Christ, His life, death and resurrection, we are given new life. No one is perfect but God. He is waiting to bless you, as He is now welcoming Whitney Houston as His newest performer in heaven, the place where all believers rejoice, for all eternity.

More importantly, Where are you Headed?

  1. Right on point. Whitney was not perfect but she believed. Steve Jobs was probably more deserving the day he died, of cancer rather than drowning after a drug overdose, however as you mentioned, God’s judgment is rooted in faith and mercy, not of deeds or works. Whitney is rejoicing indeed, while Steve-o, well, I bet he wishes he could “undo” a few things if he could… Let his loss serve as our gain, if you’re reading this, and are not yet in Christ, then there’s hope for you! My hope, and prayer is Whitney’s life & death will lead the lost to the Father, Amen!

  2. Matthew 7:21
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

I beg to differ. She had no fruit and was a lover of the world

    1. Berean, so true about scripture, that not every “poser” will be allowed in God’s kingdom based on empty, meaningless words. Re. fruit, this can be misguiding since I have fruit, yet some feel I have no faith. Even God reaps where He does not sow… Based on the word “love” alone which she spread worldwide, I’d say Whitney has, and will continue to have fruit. While her final resting place is TBD, her faith was and will continue to be an inspiration those who knew her, and perhaps ourselves as well. We should not dwell on her flaws, or her sin, rather as disciples we must continue to spread the good news about the second coming of our Lord, and more importantly, we are called to love each other as Jesus loved us then, loves us today and will continue to love us for all time.

      1. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.

Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

        Jesus said that.

        1. Other then having people search what hello friend is about, what is your mission?

I am already a christian and connected to the Lord.

Who is paying for these ads? Are we the people?

I am wondering why you believe the american people are no longer achievers, could it be that wars and other downfalls of our Great Country are bring people down. How do you think the weak minded will feel you and I are not able to feel what they feel. Although I can imagine, If you are making money off of this I suggest you do things to boost the minds who are sad and depressed due to the economy and lack of jobs. If you are putting money in your pocket off of his than you are a part of the greed that is hurting this country.

          Thank you for your time.

      2. her final resting place has already been determined by her choice to live a sinful, godless, life, as demostrated by her addiction. If any man is in Christ he is a NEW creature, old things are past away, ALL things are new. Did you see any newness of life in her drug use and debauchery?

The Word of God clearly teaches that without holiness, no man will see the Lord. While we are made holy through the blood of Christ, its our choice at that point to stay at the foot of the cross, and remain broken by our sin, before the Lord.

Narrow is the way that leads to life and few there be that find it. Broad is the road to destruction, and Whitney Houston, like most people, found that road, and jammed her foot onto the accelerator, and is in Hell today, forever, and ever, and ever. A sinners prayer confession does not a ‘Christian’ make. A Christian is regenerated by the spirit of God, and his desire is to do the will of God. ANYTHING ELSE is idolatry.

Im very sorry that people like Houston, Michael Jackson, who knew the truth, and held it in unrighteousness, just as Romans 1 says, went to hell, but they chose it.

        1. Fred, thank you for your input.

Indeed, all men and women have a choice. In denying the deity and resurrection of the Christ, skeptics choose to end up in Hell, a real place where each one will burn in agony, forever.

On the flip side, by faith, believers honor the Savior and glorify God. By faith alone, Christians also receive the Lord’s gift of grace, and secure a place for ourselves in Heaven where we will rejoice with our Father for all eternity.

While I certainly understand your point, that those who believe and are born again are made new, I disagree with your point of view, that Whitney Houston is in Hell because of how she lived.

Fred, a person’s lifestyle does not dictate where they end up. Rather, it exposes our sin.

Much like an obese glutton can’t lose 200 pounds minutes after being saved and accepting Christ as Lord and Savior, Whitney Houston, carried her sin on her sleeve after she was born again of faith in the risen Christ, just like a big fat guy. Only God knows wow she worked out her salvation.

I discern passion in your comment, and also grave fault since you too are a sinner, placing judgment on another whose sin you find more reproachable than your own…

I assure you Fred, such an endeavor is not pleasing to God, since He is the only judge, and we, His servants should focus on spreading the truth about Jesus, the risen Christ and provoking other believers in love.

To him that has an ear, let him hear.

  3. It is so sad Whitney Houston died. I am a very big fan of her music so I know. I believe un Jesus as the savior and believe that he will come back soon. The Bible said. But Whitney didn’t live her life according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ but she was a Christian. That was all it mattered to Jesus. I wondered if she repented before she died. Love her! It is sad Steve Jobs died and went to hell because he wasn’t a Christian. Maybe he wishes that he was here on earth and became a saved Christian so that he can be saved from hell fire.

  4. The truth is that we will never know where Whitney Houston is. Only God knows since only he can judge whether someone has truly repented or not.
