The #1 Reason Why BTC Hasn’t Moved In Weeks: Investors Are Holding.

Now that you know why, you can leave and tell your friends, or you can keep reading…

About 2 years ago, BTC shot passed USD$19,800 but took a nose dive shortly after reaching that milestone, prompting those who own the cryptocurrency to hold their Bitcoin because they believe that the price of bitcoin will eventually grow passed USD$100K.

They believe that if they hold their Bitcoins now, and patiently wait until its value reaches USD$100K, they will have a huge return on their investment.

Those investors who are holding on to their digital currencies are thinking long term with their Bitcoin investment, and that’s exactly why they are holding.

The problem with many investors holding at the same time is, it greatly reduces transactions ratios and consequently, impacts hash rates negatively. And, with higher hash rates come higher fees and slower transaction confirmations which in turn, introduces frustration among those trying to use the cryptocurrency for P2P payments.

Why Do I Invest In Bitcoin?

I invest in Bitcoin because it’s proven to be a superior currency to fiat money. For my business, I prefer using BTC for payments from clients since of course, there are no transaction fees. Best of all, client payments are deposited directly in my CoinBase/GDAX account where I trade daily.

On the flip side, my bank charges me a 2.9% transaction fee every time I receive a payment from my clients. While that may not sound like a lot of money, it adds up. For example, a $2,500 payment translates into $72.50, which will fill up the fuel tanks of both my truck and minivan, or provide a succulent dinner for my family. why should my bank get that money?
