The Good, The Bad and The Ugly of Internet Marketing

Thanks to the divine will of God and a unique flair for marketing, established over a career spanning over 25 years, I consider myself blessed to be a blessing.

My businesses, and  more importantly the success experienced by my clients since the mid-90’s, has recently been at the root of an outpouring of work, which I deem the fulfillment of the Lord’s plan for my team and me. Though not all prospects or projects are ideal, a few are turning out to possess long term potential.

While “getting paid up front” might sound appealing to many, more often than not pre-payment comes with strings attached. Some clients expect to pay for consulting while others lacking proper business acumen might expect to talk to someone on the phone for free, until they have a clear understanding of the project’s scope, at which time they MIGHT move forward with the proposed plan.

These days, based on demand, my time is worth on average $150.00/hour.

Because they have not personally witnessed my result fueled, faith driven approach, few of my prospect clients understand what I bring to the table, and even less comprehend the value of my conversion based advice, and close to none are able to extrapolate and factor in the additional number of annual sales they will generate using my Internet Marketing savvy and overall Online Experience.

Recently I had a self-proclaimed Real Estate guru throw a BOAT load of money my way BEFORE we agreed on anything, in hope I would help him grow his failing “Short Sale” business. How do-I know it’s failing? I had a look around his “virtual” business and trust me, it’s failing!

While the young man certainly talked the Christian talk in his YouTube videos, I witnessed actions that exposed a crafty, greedy wolf in sheep’s clothing. Had I done my homework on this man, I would have been exposed to countless Rip Off reports and rants about him, and never accepted his money, specially after he mentioned he was a Christian struggling with what he described as the “slippery slope of marketing.”

I know about those slopes all too well, they lead straight to HELL! By FAITH I choose the road less traveled, the road that leads to long term prosperity, not short term popularity.

On the flip side, I recently received this email from a prospect client that’s done her homework on yours truly AND she is interested in hiring me not only based on results, and reputation, but based on TRUST. Nowadays, TRUST is worth more than GOLD!!!

Hi Dan,
Ok per our conversation, what we need to do is for a in initial consultation (paid) so you can study our company, vision, products and see what we already have from merchant accounts to call center/fulfillment/ CRM and so on.

We need to know what we will need to do if we select to go the affiliate route and what is the cost will be for adding this and that to be ready to accept affiliates and start selling products.

I understand that if we want to do this then we have to be 100% ready for this program and have some insights on what to expect 6-12 month down the road once we start, we will worry about the 2nd year ad so on, as these are important to take in consideration to start up the program rather than stop it to do something because we were not ready to do it, I hope you understand what I’m trying to explain.

What we need is an honest consultation and opinion not some blah blah that I can do this and that and you will make this and that when in fact nothing of this can happen ever specifically in this saturated niche, your honest opinion will not stop us from doing the online marketing but rather will give us some insights on what best for us and how should we improve things to be able to do it better and compete better.

I want you to tell me how many hours do you need to do some research and come back to me with a good feedback on what you think you can do and what we should do for the next 3 months, 6 month and 12 months.
