Being in the affiliate marketing business nowadays is so simple, a 77 year old can do it!

Benjamin, a 77 year old Florida native is no affiliate phenomenon, he’s one among millions of Americans involved in affiliate marketing. Ben describes his success as the result of a simple formula I helped him establish, a series of 5 steps he takes each day according to a schedule we customized together to suit his needs.

He giggles “It’s much easier to measure success these days thanks to the internet, compared to the days when people used telephone or snail mail to get the latest updates on their program’s success — or failure!

With today’s technology readily available, and assuming our typical affiliate marketer is working from home, a day in his or her life might look something like this…

1/. Early Morning Routine (up to 1 hour)
Shortly after breakfast, Ben’s computer’s screen is turned on to check on income earned overnight while he was sleeping. He checks his email, at this time of the day he answers urgent ones only. Also on the early morning checklist is verifying software/virus update and data backup, making certain all maintenance work on his computer is done overnight while he sleeps when Ben does not need his computers.

Then while at his computer, and logged in to his affiliate accounts, Ben looks up new developments within the various affiliate networks he belongs to, and possibly some he does not already have a relationship with.

2/. Web Design & Internet Marketing (up to 1 hour)

Ben knows his affiliate web sites should always either run at their peak, being constantly improved or when already running optimally, should be replicated to maximize ROI. Every successful internet marketer knows a well designed, user friendly web site can increase sign ups or orders from visitors. Statistics show professionally designed and maintained websites significantly impact affiliate’s conversion rates. Plus, to reach the widest audience possible via SEO, Ben writes a new blog post every day making sure to use decent keyword density as well as affiliate links, or course!

3/. Promote & Submit (1-2 hours)
The fun stuff under his belt, it is time to promote & submit his affiliate sites, pages or links to ping services, directories, blogs, forums and free online classifieds. This is a critical step to enhance the array of inbound links, a proven way of promoting affiliate programs.

In this step, there are tons of resources to sort out. Ads, banners, button ads and sample recommendations to use in marketing endeavors. Consistent tweaking of affiliate marketing campaigns will eventually produce conversion data to be used to optimize each campaign and maximize earnings.

4/. Interact (1-2 hours)

In the process of doing all the above, Ben is also involved in social networks, real time conversations and logged on to a chat rooms where he interacts with other affiliates. Such social platforms offer discussion opportunities on how to best promote affiliate products. Forums for example are great websites that offer knowledge in a continuous process, available 24/7.

5/. Wrap-up the Day (1 hour)
It’s been another very productive day. Now it’s time to wrap-up. Ben now takes a few minutes to read & answer a few more emails, do one last check on the day’s earnings then call it a day.

—————     END OF THE WORK DAY ————–

If all went according to plan, Ben put in 4-6 hours total, building his affiliate business. Not exactly a “get rich quick” gig but a strategy I’m certain you will enjoy. With the right balance of effort and the Lord’s blessings, is that success looming in the distance or is it just me?
