10 Last Minute Email Marketing Ideas

ad-writting-tipsEven though everyone already knows email marketing is key to a business or ministry’s success, few people possess the necessary amount of creativity to continue engaging an audience week after week.

Because email remains the most cost effective method to communicate with an audience, it must be leveraged intelligently in spite of the difficulties involved in creating engaging content.

In this post, I’ll share 10 email marketing ideas for you to use when you can’t come up with any ideas of your own.

  1. Holidays
Are you wondering why everyone else send you emails at holidays? Fact is, holiday emails are proven to be effective channels to use when you have nothing else going on. Plus, it doubles as a blessing to someone who otherwise may not have a loving entourage to wish them a “Happy Valentine’s Day!” or a “Merry Christmas!”
  2. Breaking News
When something happens in the news that’s relevant to your business or ministry, you should leverage that information in an email, redirect to your website where you funnel the traffic to a special offer, an opportunity or a selling point.
  3. Thank You
Everyone loves to hear a “Thank You!” once in a while. As your business or ministry thrives, those responsible for your success should be thanked for their contribution. Plus, when one of your prospects hears of your success, they are likely to continue to support you moving forward.
  4. Top Sellers
Letting your audience know which products, services or events are most popular often generates awareness and activity which in turn produces sales or contributions.
  5. Promo Code/Coupon
Because everyone loves to save money on products or services, creating a quick coupon or promo code will drive sales and keep your audience engaged as they look forward to more savings from you in their inbox.
  6. Raffle/Contest
Do you have products or perhaps a service you can afford to give away on a quarterly basis? If so, put together a raffle using free online tools like Rafflecopter and use the list of entries to promote similar products or services moving forward.
  7. Video
Although video marketing is nothing new, many companies and ministries forget that each video posted online should be accompanied by an email marketing blast promoting the video and discussing the video’s topic. This will keep your audience engaged, generate more views, comments and channel subscriptions and who knows, maybe a few sales or ministry contributions as well!
  8. Feedback
Most of us have an opinion on pretty much everything. It’s a great idea to leverage this character trait and reach out to your audience for feedback on a section of your site, a product, service or marketing piece you recently put out, or plan to distribute in the future.
  9. Announcement
I can’t think of a better topic for an email piece than an announcement. If you have something going on that you feel your audience should know about, then tell them via email!  a New hire, new office location or even a new baby in the family, announcements are at the root of email marketing…
  10. FAQs
Your website has a FAQ section yet you still spend a few hours each day answering the same questions over and over again. Why not send a monthly email featuring the most commonly asked questions that month? Even something as simple as your hours of operation, business address or phone number can turn a dormant contact into a repeat customer!

Whatever you do, when it comes to email marketing, consistency is key. Send at least one email per week, add value and emotion to each piece and watch your list continue to grow along side your business or ministry.
